Doesn’t that just drive you NUTS to have a list of email addresses, along with yours, on a message sent to all of you.

You want those names in your contact list and wonder is there any reasonably easy way to get ahold of them.  Short answer: no.

But, there is a way that I do it and you might like to try it.

  1.  Log onto your Yahoo mail and go to the Inbox
  2.  Up in the upper left hand corner of the screen, click on File, then New, then Window.  A second window will open with the same screen.
  3. Open the email that has the list of email addresses that you need.
  4. See on the addresses how it reads : John Doe <jdoe AT woohoo.com>
  5. On the right hand screen, select Contacts
  6. When the Contacts area opens, there is a place at the bottom of that page for a Quick Add of contacts.
  7. In the left hand screen, drag your mouse over the address in question and ’select’ it, just between these signs  <??>. There should be a blue line over that address information.  Press Control/C.  You have now copied that address information to your clipboard.
  8. Go over to the right hand screen.  Put the cursor in the space for email address.  Press Control/V and schzam, you should have pasted that address right there.
  9. Now, put the person’s name in the proper spaces if you like.  Click ADD and you’re ready to go get another one.

It ain’t a no brainer, but you are fully capable! Trust Me!

Most of the public-free email services have similar ways of adding contacts. If you have the email addresses you want in Outlook, you can send them up to your free webmail, but that another chip.   Nice note; when someone you want to keep track of sends an email to you, there will be a note to the right of their name which invites you to add them to your contacts.  Click on that invitation and the system will walk you through what you need to do.
